Company history

The MCE-5 DEVELOPMENT Company has been established in 2000 by a small group of engineers from Arts & Métiers and Paris Centrale high school to carry out the MCE-5 R&D programs. Rapidly, new shareholders well accustomed to law and business joined this first group.

In 2000, the MCE-5 DEVELOPMENT Company entered into agreements with a major European carmaker to validate the MCE-5 VCR engine block principle through a first R&D program (stage 1). Since 2000, two R&D additional programs have been carried out (stage 2 and 3) to study the MCE-5 exclusive control jack, and to design the MCE-5 second generation components, which respond to mass-production and automotive industry requirements.

Presently, the MCE-5 DEVELOPMENT Company counts 47 shareholders among which 4 financial companies and one engine research laboratory (CERTAM engine research center).

The MCE-5 DEVELOPMENT Company is supported by major French institutions for energy saving, innovation and transportation: PREDIT program (French program for energy and transportation), ADEME (French Agency for Environment and Energy Management), ANVAR (French Agency for Innovation), French ministry of Research and French ministry of Industry.

As its world-patented technology potentially responds to near-future engines’ development stakes, the MCE-5 DEVELOPMENT Company business model is based on license granting to automotive industry combined to R&D results, materials, and industrial solutions for mass-production.

The MCE-5 DEVELOPMENT Company collaborates with a large network of companies working in various fields such as mechanical engineering, computer calculation and analysis, gear design, materials, heat and surface treatments, engine testing, vibroacoustics, mass-production based on various processes, or design of mass-production machining lines.
